This is the last actual reenactment event before Huntington Beach in September, so get your fix now. The Company will be traveling light again, so all we will have is shade fly, a supply tent tent, two at the most and the fire pit.
Fort Tejon is a great campaign event but if you feel a need for canvas you are welcome to bring your dog or wedge.
In addition to the battles etc there is always a lot going on at the Fort. In the past there has been a swap meet, pay call and a sutler where you can spend the “money” you have just been paid, field hospital, saloon and a period baseball game.
The organizers really go all out to make the event as period authentic as possible.
As it is the furthest distance event for a number of people we are encouraging car pooling.
For those in the San Diego area, Chip and Don have volunteered to drive and will be leaving out of Carlsbad on Friday, June 2nd around noon.
I believe they can take 8-10 passengers between them. Gear space will be very limited, most likely one bag or box plus sleeping bag/blanket, musket and food per person. Spaces will be on a first come – first served basis and a few have already been taken.
Please contact Chip for further details, firstname.lastname@example.org. Gas money will be expected, dollar amount to be determined by driver.
If there are other people who would like to carpool, either driver or passenger, please Reply To All on this thread with your details, location and schedule and hopefully we will be able to get a few more bodies up to the Fort.
Please go to the QM page and enter all your info for attendance, or not.
